Privacy and cookies
Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how US Permit Prep uses cookies and similar technologies on an independent DMV permit study website. We use cookies carefully: to keep the site working, understand broad site performance, protect forms from abuse, remember basic preferences, and support future advertising transparency if ads are introduced.
What's new
Recent page updates
- Added this standalone policy page for clearer user and crawler access.
- Linked the page from the footer and XML/HTML sitemap.
- Kept policy language separate from interactive quiz tools and state study content.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies can include local storage, pixels, tags, and server logs. Some are needed for a website to function. Others help site owners understand how pages are used or how technical problems happen. You can control cookies in your browser, but disabling some cookies may affect forms, preferences, security checks, or analytics accuracy.
Essential site cookies
US Permit Prep may use essential cookies or local storage for basic website operation, WordPress security, spam protection, contact form protection, session behavior, cache delivery, and remembering lightweight interface preferences. These technologies do not exist to sell your DMV study activity. They help pages load, tools work, and abuse controls function.
Analytics and performance cookies
We may use Google Analytics 4, Google Site Kit, server logs, Hostinger or LiteSpeed performance tools, and similar analytics systems to understand traffic patterns, popular pages, technical errors, browser/device categories, and general engagement. Analytics reports are used to improve practice tools, state guides, page speed, and content quality. They are not a substitute for official DMV records and should not include driver license numbers, Social Security numbers, or DMV documents.
Security, CDN, and hosting cookies
Hosting, caching, firewall, or CDN services may use security and performance cookies. If US Permit Prep is routed through Cloudflare or a similar security/CDN provider, that provider may set cookies to identify trusted traffic, reduce abuse, protect forms, or serve pages faster. Hostinger, WordPress, LiteSpeed, and related security layers may also process technical data such as IP address, user agent, request URL, and timestamp for security and reliability.
Advertising cookies
US Permit Prep does not currently place ad units inside quiz interfaces. If advertising is introduced later, advertising partners such as Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, limit, or personalize ads depending on your settings and legal region. Future ad use will be handled separately from our editorial decisions, and quiz/question interfaces should remain free of ad placements.
Your choices
You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings. You can also use privacy controls from Google, device-level advertising settings, and industry choice tools such as AdChoices. If you block analytics or advertising cookies, the website should still provide study content, but some measurement, preference, or security features may behave differently.
Contact and updates
Questions about cookies or privacy can be sent through the contact form. We may update this Cookie Policy when tools, hosting, analytics, security systems, or future advertising choices change. The Last Updated date near the top of this page shows the most recent review date.
